Kendrick Lamar’s posts to social media are incredibly few and far between, so when the Compton rapper posted a cryptic ‘IV’ image on Instagram earlier this morning, with no accompanying caption, it sent fans into a frenzy.

His Instagram has since been wiped clean, save for the recently uploaded roman numeral, and fans are already speculating that this is a hint at an upcoming album, which, after Section.80, Good Kid, M.A.D.D. City, and 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly, would be his fourth release.

Lamar recently opened up in an interview about his new release being ‘very urgent’ as his focus has shifted. He explained, “I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork.”
