“For me, the idea of ‘Tokyo’ is about picturing something far away in the distance. There’s a notion of forgetting about yourself and drifting away.”
The Montréal multi hyphenate RYAN Playground has dropped a new song from her upcoming album. Titled “Tokyo” the track features LA by-way of New Zealand act Lontalius and the video (directed by Malo) is our pick of the week. The clip has a Groundhog Day vibe but with different outfits. As RYAN Playground explains…
“Lontalius and I agree that this song is about a moment of insecurity that can be translated in to different kinds of feelings…For me, the idea of ‘Tokyo’ is about picturing something far away in the distance. There’s a notion of forgetting about yourself and drifting away.”
Watch the video for “Tokyo” below and catch RYAN Playground live this Friday, June 15th at The Garrison in the A.Side & Secret Songs showcase.
RYAN Playground’s upcoming album is set for release this summer via Ryan Hemsworth’s Secret Songs label & Last Gang Records.
